Supermodel Styles

So, our drop-dead gorgeous and totally amazingly accommodating friend Sarah agreed to be the Shoebox model for this summer’s photo shoot.

And by “photo shoot”, I mean that P-Hops, Tammers and I went to the alleyway behind my building with my Canon and giggled and took random pics and went mental.

Can you believe we got all this amazing photography within about 2.5 hours for FREE???

I do want to apologize to everyone because I was a basketcase trying to get the shots done before the sun went down.  When I get down to business, I GET DOWN TO BUSINESS.  Everyone totally put up with me, though.  And we got amazing shots.

What made it really funny was that some other Queen West store had decided to use the same alleyway that night for another photoshoot.  I WISH I had taken at least an iPhone snap of the outfits and set-ups they were using, because they were VERY DIFFERENT from ours.

There’s a motorcycle repair shop-slash-garage-slash-man-cave-slash-dirthole-shack in the alley behind my place, and they were photographing a chick in a LEATHER BATHING SUIT straddled on the back of a motorcycle wearing huge platform heels.  Suffice it to say, the boys in the motorcycle repair shop were preeeeeeetty happy that night.

I also wish that I had taken some more shots of us behind the scenes taking the photos and giggling and laughing.  We had a picnic lunch in the middle of my living room…

…and I had been kneeling on the ground so much to get the right angle for the photos that I had some maaaaaad blackened dirt stains on my knees.  Like a slut.  Blowie Nat.

All the help from Sarah and Tami was HUGE.  You guys are the best.  P-Hops and I love you.

Like Sarah’s outfits?  Amazing pieces from each outfit will be on sale at our pop up shop starting this weekend at Russet and Empire

YOU SHOULD COME.

Can you tell that I’ve discovered pastels?  This past week I have been MELTING over pastels.  I bought this mint-green skirt on Monday while scouring through Value Village for some goodies for Friday.  4 bucks, sucka.  PASTELS!

I had this whole outfit planned last night, and I was so excited, then this morning I tried to find this damn pink silk shirt from Banana.

I looked and looked and looked, and I couldn’t find it.  Then I got mad because I couldn’t find it.  Then I started pulling EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING out of my drawers.  When I become fixated on something I HAVE TO HAVE IT.  I become one of those insane, obsessive-compulsive people who decides that nothing else on Earth is allowed to happen until I get what I want.

Finally, after about 25 minutes of looking through piles over and over and over, I found it stuffed behind one of my drawers, between the back of the drawer and the wall.  Success!

The lesson here is: Obessessive-compulsive behaviour inevitably leads to success in everything you do in life.  WORD.

 Oh, one more thing:

Red hair lookie nice with blue top.

Let’s just sit back and admire the perfection of this sailor top.  It’s perfect.  The collar?  Perfect.  The little buttons?  Perfect.  The blue piping? Perfect.

Why has this been in my closet for about 1.5 years without me even considering it, you ask?  Idiocy.  Plain idiocy.  That’s the only explanation.

June 18, 2011

I was pretty worried about coming to my uber-conservative workplace today with my red hair.  So I tried to hide it by putting it in a pony tail.

And I tried to dress it up all fancy-like with a suit.  But I couldn’t resist adding some peachy-pink in there for a bit of hair-clashing… tee hee hee…

Whatever.  My hair looks awesome.
